Meetup details changed: YARN SWAP

From: Archie
Sent on: Tuesday, August 9, 2011 2:06 PM

When: Thursday, August 11,[masked]:00 PM

Where: Sweet Melissa
175 7th Ave
Brooklyn, NY 11215

a) All yarn should be assigned a point value based upon the purchase price of the yarn. If you don't remember the price, you can approximate it or you can use one of our on hand "experts" to evaluate the yarn. Books are either 2 or 3 points.
1 point - $7-13

2 points - $14-20

3 points - $21-27

4 points - $28+

NO CHEAP YARN allowed.  That means most acrylic and cheap wools.  Sorry, but it messes with the point system and no one wants it.

b) Yarn should include the original tag (containing the content, care instructions, gauge, etc....)
c) If you lost the tag or if you are swapping hand-spun or hand-dyed yarn, write the relevant info on a yellow sticky and place it and the yarn into a ziplock bag (so as to not separate)
d) On the back of the tag, attach a sticky with the point value and your name CLEARLY indicated.
e) If you own a pet, YOU MUST put a warning on the tag due to people having allergies.

a) Everyone’s name will be put in a hat and randomly drawn to establish an order.

b)People come up and select yarn or books in the order they were selected.
c) For the first round, you can only take one item.

d)For each round afterwards, there is a maximum of 8 points of yarn that can be taken.

e)You can take out / swap the amount of yarn equal to the point value of the yarn you put in. The more you bring, the more you can swap.
