Nimen Hao (Hello) Knitters,
I know you are probably sick of me by now =(, but bare with me and keep on reading. This email will hopefully contain some info you may be interested in.
1) Its spring time. Rejoice. Its that time of year when you can take your knitting out doors and feel that warm sun on your shoulders. To that end,
assistant organizer, Marina, is organizing weekend meet-ups at the Prospect Park meadow. The first one is scheduled for May 4th. Check out the calendar for more details.
2) Assistant organizer Anna, is trying to organize a contingency of knitters to attend the Annual Fleece Fest at the Prospect Park Zoo. Watch the sheep and alpacas get their annual haircuts and meet local artists as they teach visitors finger-knitting and other artistic techniques. Price is $6 (cost of admission into the Zoo). The event takes place Saturday & Sunday, May 3 -4, 11 am - 4 pm. PLEASE go our meet-up website and cast your vote on whether we should meet on Saturday or Sunday. I personally put my vote in for Saturday (not that I want to bias anyone =))
3) Can you say YARN SWAP! That's right, the much requested yarn swap is in the works, so start digging out those beautiful skeins of yarn that have you saying, "what was I thinking when I bought this." Another persons garbage is another person treasure.
4) Summer Knit-A-Long anyone? Anna is trying to get a knit an accessory knit-a-long going. Perfect for a summer knit; light and small. Check out her suggestions on ravelry
or send her an email.
