Welcome to another year of knitting!!! We have several events lined up for you, so read below. Trust me, it's worth it!!!
a) Saturday February 11th and on
Our assistant organizer, Jackie is currently leading a knit a long (KAL) of the Citron Shawlette by Hilary Smith Callis. It is a free pattern from the Knitty Winter 2009 e-zine issue. You are able to join at any time - there is no time limit. Fun give aways are to be had for all who finish the KAL and show off their amazing work!
b) Sunday, February 12th & Thursday, February 16th
The Secret BLANKET Knit-a-long begins. If you always wanted the chance to knit with cashmere for free, and for a great cause, then come on by. Participants have to knit 8 by 8 squares (suggested US#8) in any pattern. See Julie or me (Archie) for details.
c) Thursday, February 16th
Have you ever wanted to learn to knit? Then, this meeting is for you. If you already own yarn, RSVP now, show up and an experienced knitter will gladly show you the basics. If you have nothing, RSVP and let me know you need supplies. For $15, we will give you needles and a skein of yarn to get you started. RSVPing is very important so I can plan accordingly. SO RVSP EARLY.
d) Thursday, February 23 & March 1st
Charity knitter extraordinaire, Jazmin would like to organize a charity drive. Please join us in knitting hats, scarfs or neck warmers for a great cause. Knitted items will be donated to an organization in Philadelphia that specializes in helping homeless families get back on their feet.. For more info , check out this website. Yarn and possible patterns will be provided.
e) Saturday, March 3rd
Meet the new LYS (Local Yarn Store). Another yarn store, the Argyle Yarn Shop has graced Brooklyn with its presence. Come, knit and meet the purveyors of this fine shop. (Date may change).
