That's right... it's that time of the year again... YARN & KNITTING BOOK SWAP SEASON!!!
For all of you veteran PSKC members, you already know the thrill and excitement that is the Yarn & Book Swap. I sure you have already started going through and cleaning out your stash.
For those of you new to the group, if you could attend only one PSKC meet-up this year, THIS THURSDAY SHOULD BE THE ONE!! This is the meet-up for all you yarn lovers who have those leftover skeins from a big project or those single skeins that you have no idea what to make out of it or went momentarily insane and bought lace weight and fun fur yarn. =)
Please RSVP early (like as soon as you read this email) so that I have an appropriate count and can coordinate with Sweet Melissa. Our meet-up will start at 7 pm, as usual. All are welcomed. If you have yarn or books for the swap, you will place it on the indicated table. At 8 pm, the yarn swap will begin.
PREPARING FOR THE YARN SWAP
a) All yarn / books should be assigned a point value based upon the dollar value of the item. If you don't remember the price, you can approximate it or you can use one of our on hand "experts" to evaluate the yarn / book.
1 point - $5-10
2 points - $11-17
3 points - $18-25
4 points $ 26 - 37
b) Yarn MUST include the original tag (containing the content, care instructions, gauge, etc....). There are some exceptions (i.e. - handspun). On the back of the tag, attach a sticky with the point value and your name CLEARLY indicated.
c) if you are swapping hand-spun or hand-dyed yarn, write the relevant info on a yellow sticky and place it and the yarn into a ziplock bag (so as to not separate) d) If you own a pet, YOU MUST put a warning on the tag due to people having allergies.
a) You can take out / swap the amount of yarn/book equal to the point value of the yarn/book you put in. The more you bring, the more you can swap.
b) Have fun and no biting =P
