A special announcement from Wanda, Organizer of Park Slope Knitting Circle

Announcing a new event for Park Slope Knitting Circle!

What: Lets go to the Prospect Park Fleece Festival!

When: Saturday, April 28, 12:00 PM

Zoo admission: USD6.00 per person

Where: Click the link below to find out!

Event Description: Enjoy a day of shear fun when the Prospect Park zoo's sheep and alpacas get their yearly haircuts!

Expert shearer Don Kading will help our barnyard crew out of their winter coats, and local artists will demonstrate various knitting and spinning techniques. Zoo-goers can try their hands at dying wool fibers, chat with keepers who care for the Cotswold sheep and Dexter cow. You can even bring the kids to enjoy groovy music by chart-topping children?s band Hot Peas ?n Butter.

Get tips on how to dye, knit, and spin wool from local artists, then try your hand at dying wool fibers. Children can also stop by the Zoo?s Animals in Art building to make an animal-inspired craft to take home.

Time: Noon to 4:00 p.m.

Make sure to bring your knitting in case we want to relax in the park and get in a few more stitches!

Lets meet at the zoo entrance at 450 Flatbush Avenue at Empire Blvd.
