E' stata una serata favolosa! I invited a very dear friend of mine, and we shared an unforgettable evening. I had seen Madama Butterfly at Teatro dell'Opera di Roma at least three times because my parents were "patiti" della lirica, when you would go to "la prima" with a maxi dress (corsi e ricorsi della moda:-) Last night performance was in the form of "concerto" when one instrument replaces the entire orchestra. The pianist, Dr. Katerina Souvorova was majestic, powerful, and, when the situation requested, extremely delicate.
All the artists did a magnificent job, both by voice and personality. A funny short story is that, no matter how many times I would see "La Butterfly", at the end I feel a good, healthy urge to kick Pinkerton's butt, and at the same time I remember my father's words
"My angel, you'll NEVER marry an American!" Ah, ah, ah..
