Jovanotti concert at the 9:30 Club

Salve a Tutti! On April 22nd the Italian pop star Jovanotti will make his Washington, DC debut at the famous 9:30 Club. The doors open at 7:00 pm but the current prediction is that Jovanotti will be on stage at 9:00pm.
Where will you find the Meetup group? The plan for the evening is to enjoy a bite to eat at the club between 7:30 and 8:30. You can look for Meetup members in the area where food and beverages are served. If you have trouble locating us, here's my phone number:[masked]-1266. The food options at the club look good: About 8:30-8:45 we'll look for a good spot to watch the show. There are no assigned seats. It's a standing room only venue. Currently about 1/2 the tickets are sold. My understanding is that venue has a capacity is 900 for this show. Jovanotti delivers a great show! Don't miss it!
Who is Jovanotti? Lorenzo Cherubini (born in 1966), better known by his stage name of Jovanotti, made his debut at the age of twenty for Radio Deejay, under the aegis of Claudio Cecchetto. The renowned "Il Grande Boh!" was not in fact his debut as a writer as "Yo, brothers and sisters" had already launched him into the literary world. But his real passion was music, and this is where he has undergone his greatest personal and professional growth. His albums, without considering a number of singles associated with specific events (such as Cuore written to commemorate the tragic death of Giovanni Falcone), are the milestones of a complex musical journey that over the years has explored more and more genres and influences. Jovanotti has intensified his tours and collaborations and has performed with internationally renowned artists (Pino Daniele, Luca Carboni, Luciano Pavarotti). Ticket information can be found here:

The concert has been a blast... grandioso!! Cosi' tanta energia... at the end when it was over I didn't even realize it was already 11.30 PM!! Grazie Lorenzo!! As for the meetup itself.. clearly it wasn't the best occasion for conversations.. but at least I had the chance to meet and say hello to Ivan! Hope to see the rest of you soon in another occasion!

A comment from an Italian member: Ciao a tutti! I'm writing from Roma and I'm Italian. I love music and also Jovanotti's songs. He has an interesting story as musician and now he is also interested in social and political matters. I think it would be interesting for you to listen to him even if his lirycs shoud be read between the lines. I like the song called "Ombelico del mondo" that means the "navel of the world" talking about Africa. I wish my english is enough understanble. A.
