G St SE & 3rd St SE, Washington, DC
Ciao a tutti...
Keith and I have been discussing Bocce Ball, maybe having a team for a season of DC Bocce Ball. To start, I thought it might be a nice fall outing to organize an afternoon of Bocce Ball. We'll gather at Garfield Park on Capitol Hill because they have two actual Bocce Ball courts at the Park! Below the park address and a picture of it.
If you decide to join us, please plan to bring something to share - either a snack or something to drink. If you want to know more about the park, this website will help: http://www.garfieldparkwashingtondc.org/Home_Page.html
If you own a Bocce Ball set and are willing to share it for the afternoon, please let me know!! Alternatively, if you'd like to be an Event Host for the Bocce Ball afternoon, I welcome your assistance.
Here are a few more points of information:
1. It is a fairly large park and includes (aside from the Bocce Ball courts) bbbbbba dog park section, tennis courts, a playground, picnic tables and a skateboard park.
2. Use of the courts & park are on a first-come first-serve basis, so I'll ask some people to arrive early and help me "reserve" the courts.
4. Parking can usually be found in the surrounding neighborhood or it is about a 10 minute walk from the Capitol South Metro,
3. There is no bathroom in the park itself, the closest bathroom is at the American Legion Post which in an emergency can be used (I've done it before and they were very nice.) http://www.legiondc8.org/
Thanks everyone! I hope you can join us. Tanti auguri, Nancy3rd & G Streets SE
