What else would you like to tell our group about yourself?

I've been finding learning a new language as an adult very frustrating and slow. Am very happy to meet other Italian speakers and hopefully improve my conversational skills.

How did you learn about our group?

Through another member.

What is your favorite Italian book, author, film, song, musician, food and/or city?

Italian food - yes! I grew up surrounded by wonderful cooks and a plate of pasta always cheers me up. Pasta alla puttanesca is one of my favorites. Music - I didn't know any new Italian music, but I've just discovered NEK.

At what level do you speak Italian and do you speak other languages?

Since I'm part Italian, studying the language is part of a "roots search," especially since I would like to visit the home region of my great-grandparents. But the more I study, the more interest I have in the culture of Italy. I speak at a beginner's level, but my vocabulary is helped by my fluency in French and some knowledge of Spanish.

What kind of events would you most enjoy?

Introduction

Hi to all Italian meetup members. I'm a DC resident who's been studying Italian at Casa Italiana and now with a tutor for about two years. I'm very glad to find another way to connect with lovers of Italian language and culture.
