I love the Italian language, wine, food and culture, like I'm sure many of you do too which is why I think I could make great friends in this group! I'm just about to get started on reading the first Harry Potter in Italian to start brushing up my language skills, but reading is the easier part, speaking it and remembering those words is a whole different ballgame for me. I look forward to learning from everyone and having a good time with people who share love for Italy's beautiful language and culture!
Just saw it on Meetup!
Firenze is my favorite Italian city, which is where I stayed for a month. I still talk to my house mom, Sabrina, and I felt like I really left a piece of my heart there with her! I don't think I know enough books or music in Italian, but I do love the move "La Vita e Bella". I'd have to say Sabrina made the best Italian food, but if I had to choose off the top of my head I had the best seafood linguini when I stayed in a town a mile or so away from Positano. Still remember that amazing meal!
I started learning Italian in college as a freshman. It was a packaged learning program for freshman and it sounded fun so I signed myself up! It was so much fun, I continued throughout college. I'd say right now I'm back at bare minimal of beginners which is so sad, but I'm confident speaking with others will boost my language skills back up! And I'll never say no to learning other languages, why not! Spanish would definitely be useful. But I think any language to learn is wise. I also have some background in French from high school.
Food, wine, movies, music, embassy events, you name it, I'm game!
Ciao! Mi chiamo Hillary, and that's about all I can remember (sort of kidding)! I have a minor in Italian and traveled there in college for about a month. That was I guess about 3 years ago and I've lost everything! I'd love to gain it back!
