What else would you like to tell our group about yourself?

I work downtown for a federal agency, and am often at book launches, policy presentations, and discussions. I've been involved with the Italian Cultural Institute for about ten years.

How did you learn about our group?

I got a Meetup invitation in connection with the upcoming film about the man who stole the Mona List. While I'm not free on July 29th, I would be interested in learning about future events.

What is your favorite Italian book, author, film, song, musician, food and/or city?

Dante is my favorite Italian author, and the Divine Comedy, my favorite book. My favorite Italian film is A Special Day. Vivaldi is my favorite Italian composer, calamari fra diavolo my favorite Italiabn food, and Florence, my favorite Italian city.

At what level do you speak Italian and do you speak other languages?

I can read the language phonetically, and understand it partially, but, never having formally studied Italian, cannot claim to speak it. I can say the same of my Spanish and German. I have formally studied French and ancient Greek, and have had one year of Russian.

What kind of events would you most enjoy?

As a graduate of the only U.S. college requiring Dante of all its students (St. John's), I first became familiar with the Italian language. Although I still haven't been to Italy, I do enjoy Italian food, wine, film, and music.
