I've always wanted to check out this museum as a motorcycle enthusiast but just never got around to it. If you are a Student or Senior you can also get a discount at the door. I will also see if I can get a couple of models to do a TFCD and if so, we will probably have to pay for their gas/admission so I am requesting a fee of $5.00 via paypal. However, if I can't get any models, then no fee. Paypal payment to me at [masked].
If models, it will be a casual shoot, no reflectors, no studio strobes, but just a couple of models to spice up our photos. The cars are roped off so doubtful models or us can get really up close for shots. We'll play it loose, if the models are game, we might walk over to the LACMA and take some nice outdoor shots on the grounds of the museum without all the restrictions and I believe we can use reflectors there. After the shoot, we will grab a bite to eat, process/photoshop/give models some images on CD to them on the spot, so bring your laptop and be prepared to deliver some JPG's to the models. If no models, a restaurant will be totally optional if shooters still want to gather and chat about the days shoot and view each others images. So be prepared for a fun, but long day.
The Petersen Automotive Museum is dedicated to the exploration and presentation of the automobile and its impact on American life and culture using Los Angeles as the prime example. Encompassing more than 300,000 square feet, its exhibits and lifelike dioramas feature more than 150 rare and classic cars, trucks and motorcycles.
Covering four floors, the facility features permanent exhibits on the first floor that trace the history of the automobile. Visitors are invited to walk through, not by, exhibits and dioramas and experience settings of early Los Angeles where the world’s first shopping district was designed.
The second floor presents five rotating galleries with state-of-the-art displays of racecars, classic cars, vintage motorcycles, concept cars, celebrity and movie cars, and auto design and technology.
