Dear Ronald and other members,
Thank you so much for the support and advice for taking photos at the Olympic trials. I'm still digesting all the input that were given...
Sorry it took me long time to report this, but unfortunately my older son didn't make it to the Olympics.. However, he's still young and there should be still more to come.. The trials were done together with Wrestling at the University of Las Vegas, and there were so many great matches, which I wished you guys were there too to capture the exciting moments! My son's in Colorado now to be trained at the Olympics Training Center and his next goal is to compete at the junior World Championships in Thailand in fall. Well, at least his fighting spirit is still on and so is my wish to learn photography, so I want to come to just to say hi and thanks!
My youger son is now in Japan to be trained at this very prestigious high school now. My dream is one day I become very rich and invite you guys to Japan to take pictures and meet the photographers there and have an international contest together!! :-)
Before the trials, I read a beginner book about photography, and as a matter of fact, I got really interested... I guess it's almost everything about light....how much light for how long from which angle, etc....I was quite fascinated and got inquisitive reading the book, and thought about the long lost time I had been ignorant about all these things. When my sons were at grade schools they each had a chance to learn the basics of photography and actually had opportunities to go on field trips to take photos themselves, but I myself never learned at school....I wished I had had an opportunity to learn just the basic, ABC of photography early in my life, then I could have taken so many pictures traveling to many places.....Too late? Maybe, or maybe not...So I really like the spirit of this meetup to entice more people to the group activity and promote photography, I bet many people will benefit form that!
Thank you for organizing this wonderful meetup, Ronald, and look forward to meeting other members soon!

Meetup Description: Photographers and digital artist of Los Angeles at shoot the day.
Many of you have asked about stock photography, shoot the day will be a stock photography competition. This is an entry-level site for this field, you can join photographers and digital artists of Los Angeles (PDALA) at this link I have provided.
July 20, at 3 p.m. we have tentatively chosen Hollywood Boulevard for our meet up. More information will be forthcoming about this location and how we will be enticing the public to participate in our group activity. Your ideas will be valued, but I do need a sense of how many people would like to participate in this activity.
At this activity we will be asking for model releases from those we are photographing.
