The Story Beyond The Still
It's the first ever user-generated HD Video Contest where photographers become filmmakers, and we all see beyond the still. Last month Josh Thacker was chosen as the very first winner for his film "Job Security," based on his interpretation of a still photograph at the end of the previous chapter, "The Cabbie," shot by Vincent Laforet on a Canon EOS 7D. Josh's film was the second chapter of seven, ending with a still photograph of its own for the Vimeo community to interpret. After a flurry of entries, Keegan Uhl's "The Beach" was chosen as the winner for Chapter 3, and now, once again the question is posed to you, what do you see beyond this still?http://vimeo.com/groups/beyondthestill/
"The Burden of Thirst"
This lecture is now fully booked.
If you are still interested in attending, please come early on the evening of the event to be placed on the standby list.

Nordstrom is committed to celebrating our communities, and we think helping you achieve your dreams of a higher education is a great way to start. The Nordstrom Scholarship is about enabling you to achieve your educational goals.
Since 1993, Nordstrom has awarded college scholarships to hard-working high school students from across the country. Annually, we award 40 scholarships of $10,000. These scholarships are paid out in equal installments of $2,500 over four years to the college of the student?s choice.

? Have participated in community/volunteer activities

How the Scholarship Is Awarded
Regional selection committees, made up of local community leaders, interview our scholarship finalists in person. Once the recipients are selected, Nordstrom makes a surprise visit to the students' school where, with their friends and family watching, the students are informed that they have won a Nordstrom scholarship.
