Mahjong Thursday at the Garden

If you're new to the Portland Mahjong Society, Thursday is our opportunity to play some mahjong in the beautiful, peaceful surroundings that is the Lan Su Chinese Gardens. While I encourage you to consider picking up a membership to the Garden, we are graciously allowed to make a "Guest List". You'll need to be a registered member of the PMJS (here at this website) and, RSVP for this event. Your RSVP will get you on the list and, ensure that your entry fee into Lan Su is taken care of. Of course, we can't allow all 200+ members to join us so, this list is limited. It usually fills up fairly quickly so, RSVP as soon as possible.


Since we'll be introducing mahjong to some visitors of the Garden for the first time, we normally play a very stripped down, bare bones, basic version of the classic, Chinese game. If however, we have a foursome that is more familiar with the rules, we'll often dive into some scoring/strategy aspects of several versions. It's really, whatever the players want to play.
