Hi Everyone,

This is my very first post and this will be very simple for some of the expert. I'm very new to selenium and i'm in the learning stage. I'm facing an issue with the Selenium working with drop down list.

Below is my scenario.

I have three drop down list (List 1, List 2 & List 3)

List 3 will change dynamically based on the value selects in List1.

If i select value "a" in the List 1, 10 values will be loaded in the List 3.

When i run the script with thread.sleep before selecting the value in the List 3, everything works fine. But when i remove the thread.sleep, i'm getting the error "Element is not attached to the DOM".

What is the best way to resolve this kind of issue.

Your help is highly appreciated.

Thanks in Advance.

You need to add a WebDriverWait for the third list to get updated. If possible, you can tie into the javascript that is being fired by the first list, so you know for sure that it is updated.

If not, see if there is an item in the third list, that changes (added/removed) when you click on the first item. And wait for it to be changed.
