Developer: Alternative Ways to Serve Your WordPresses

Join us for the next PDXWP Developer Meetup when Joe Hoyle, Co-Founder and CTO of Human Made Limited, will guide us through some alternative ways to serve PHP and WordPress. The WordPress world of servers is generally Apache + mod_php / PHP-FPM. Joe will take a look at some related technologies such as Facebook’s HHVM and Automattic’s Pre-fork, as well as an event driven approach for serving PHP.

It was nice to explore different options for serving PHP, but also nice to know that sticking with PHP-FPM makes the mosts sense at this point. I don't have the time, at present, to learn HHVM, or whatever, and start using it.

Duane, if you don't get the answers you need, contact me and I'd be happy to answer your questions over a cup of coffee. I have conflicts tonight and can't make the meeting, but I'm available most other times.

Definitely! Nearly everyone who'll be in the room probably similar questions at some point. Don't be shy. :)
