The Original Dinerant

In the 1950s and 60s, diners and supper clubs were social hubs, places we gathered to end our days or begin our nights. The menus were comprised of comfort foods brought to this country by the immigrants who shaped it, and were refined to satisfy contemporary tastes. The Original, the downtown destination for all-day Portlanddining, renews that spirit for the 21st century by serving up playful variations on the classic standards in an atmosphere that’s stylishsophisticated and cool.

So, settle into a spacious booth for a comforting brunch or a brisk business lunch. Stretch out in our plush retro-luxe banquette for an elegant dinner. Unwind at our candle-lit bar for that much deserved post-prandial nightcap. At the Original, we honor the past as we listen in on the pulse of Portland’s adventurous and evolving tastes.

Getting There/FYI

Close to MAX and Portland Steetcar.  Plan your trip at TriMet.org or PortlandStreetcar.org

MEETUP ETIQUETTE:

  1. Please be on time.  We, generally, can not be seating until our ENTIRE PARTY has arrived.
  2. Please, in order to make paying the bill convenient for everybody - and so you can tip your server appropriately, BRING SMALL BILLS.  $20's are NOT small bills.
  3. If you can not attend the MeetUp please update your RSVP so that people on the Wait List have an opportunity to attend.
  4. Thank you for your consideration!

THE AFTER-BREAKFAST MORNING CONSTITUTIONAL

Optional (and weather dependent) but NOT mandatory to RSVP for this MeetUp is the After-Breakfast Morning Constitutional.   (Constitutional: noun.  A walk taken for one's health.  Ex.: "She's gone out for her morning constitutional.") If you'd like to join me for an after-breakfast morning constitutional, wear comfortable shoes & bring a water bottle.  Under 4 miles - no elevation.  From The Original we will head to the Waterfront, cross Hawthorne Bridge & walk the Eastbank Esplanade to the Steel Bridge then back down the Waterfront to SW Oak returning to the starting point.  A great way to kick off the week!

The reservation is currently for 12 under "MeetUp"/Greta. If there is a wait list, I will get an additional table. Please note: they do not do split checks/they will not give us each our own check. Ther eis an 18% gratuity for large groups (that's us!). Please be sure to bring small bills. As a reminder, a $20 is NOT a small bill. Please have 1's & 5's to make paying the bill easy for all. Thank you for your consideration, it is appreciated!

@Sandra, I would love for you to join in the walk, however, I have no idea of knowing when the walk will start. But.... the menu does have a "lighter side": BIKINI DIET: grapefruit, avocado, cottage cheese, arugula, & almonds
    STEEL CUT OATS W/ FRUIT
    HOUSEMADE GRANOLA, FRUIT & YOGURT

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
