Tasty and Sons: The New Kid in Town

Tasty and Sons (map)

Selected By: Paul Gerald

I can't think of a place with a more impressive pedigree than Tasty and Sons. With people involved coming from Toro Bravo, Paley's Place and Simpatica, I don't see how this place would not be good. Heck, The Oregonian wrote it up before it even opened, and gave away some menu secrets.

So let's go check this place out!

Really fun group and amazing food. Our waitress even jumped in on a mathematical/philosophical conversation!

Finding a good breakfast place in Portland is easy, finding one that is truly unique is more of a challenge. The food was delicious and it was a ton of fun eating small bites of many things.

"Tasty" is true: the food was fabulous, though some dishes were more fabulous than others. There was a great interplay of sweet, tart, crunchy, soft, and savory among the 7 different dishes that we tried. There was a bit of strangeness with one of the meetup group members, but after that was over, we managed to have a great conversation and find out interesting things. All in all, a good breakfast!
