Happy Monday | Chang to Meet Up Guidelines.

Hello Everyone,

I hope that your week is starting off well! I've spent the last four hours editing mock ups of coats in illustrator, I think I could use a coffee... I am again welcoming meet up ideas as our calendar is looking pretty sparse. I also wanted to touch base on new guidelines for scheduling / running events for our group.

As many of you know I had the "Inspiration Walk" meetup on Saturday. I am sorry to say, and I completely take this on as a failing on my part, that it didn't work out as planned. We seemed to all just barely miss each other, and I neglected to provide full contact info to reach me when a member got to a meetup location. That having been said we also only had 2 members actually attempt to show up, despite more RSVP'ing. For these reasons going forward the guidelines for scheduling a meet up should include:

  • Full address of event location, including time, and if possible an image of the location.
  • Mobile contact information for the meet up organizer.

In addition to this a change will be made to better ensure that people are not RSVPing simply to RSVP. For this reason going forward those who RSVP but do not attend twice, and do not given any notice (like a quick message) within 24 hours before and after the scheduled event, will be removed from our group.

Please note this is not a way to penalize any members, just trying to keep the group true to its intentions; a welcoming forum for people to meet each other. False commitments do not bode well as creative professionals, or when trying to build a good networking foundation.

Kind regards,

Michael Lindsley
