The owners of Sivalai Thai are putting together a buffet dinner for us. They are very excited to have us at their restaurant. Sivalai Thai is a local, four stars restaurant with personable service. Dinner is $14 per person, including gratuity. Please RSVP only if you are sure of attending this dinner. Also, this dinner is cross promoted with the Culture Exchange Group.
For the month of October we are asking all those that attend to write a cultural fact or anything they can think of on a small piece of paper about their culture/country of origin/where they have traveled/culture they are interested in etc. It will be placed in a pot and then a member will pick it randomly and will read it out loud for the group. You do not have to get up and go in front of the group you can do this while seated where you are. This is a way for everyone to share a bit of cultural knowledge with the group.
For those braver among us you can also do a short presentation in front of the group if you wish. Some ideas besides sharing a cultural fact include bringing an item of cultural importance/sharing a story etc.
To minimize long line, some members pay when first enter and some members can pay afterward. People can park at a big parking lot at a corner of SE 48th & stark that is across the restaurant and is one or two houses away; Sivalai Thai also has few parking in front, on the side and there is street parking as well.
