Pairing Potluck: The Element Acid (Foods with a Tartness)

What's a Pairings Potluck?

Part education, part decadence & part community fun!

You bring a dish in the theme. The theme this time is any dish that highlights foods or flavors with a tartness. Lemons, lime, vinegars, tomatillos, granny smith apples, grapefruit, ...

Please write out all the ingredients in your dish for all to see.

Once the food is gathered (a little bubbly is served while folks gather), Jeff (me) speaks aloud and shares his process of pairing wine & food based on the foods that have shown up.

Four wines are chosen to pair with the foods, each person is given two glasses, and the tasting & pairing adventure begins.

$25 per person includes a flow of wine for the event and the opportunity to purchase any wine (to take with you) at a 10% discount.

All participants vote on their favorite dish of the night, and the winner gets a $15 Pairings Portland Wine Shop gift certificate!

Outstanding! (as usual). Opportunities to try alternative wines with alternative foods and experience the differences. Educational as well as fun and delicious, it also provided an opportunity to stretch beyond the (oh hum) usual in preparing a dish to share. Looking forward to the next potluck.
