Naked Bike Ride-NO LONGER AN ORGANIZED MEET UP

What makes Portland weird? OH SO MANY THINGS! One of them being the annual Portland Naked Bike Ride. This ride is a statement, a protest, a funfest, a way to get out of your comfort zone.

Here are your two options: Option One: Be a Naked participant, make your statement in all of your glory on your bicycle! Option Two: Be a spectator, pointing, giggling, and wishing you had the balls (or boobies) to be one of the thousands to be out there riding a bike! Either way, it is a memorable, Portland experience to be experienced at least once.

The Naked Bike Ride is not telling anyone what the route is :(  All I know is that it's starting at the Portland Art Museum :

http://www.oregonlive.com/cycling/index.ssf/2013/05/world_naked_bike_ride_and_port.html

It's going to be too difficult to organize 60+ people on a Saturday evening for dinner/happy hour in downtown Portland. So now this has become an informational event. I would encourage you to still go, participate, and have a great time! If you don't want to go by  yourself, there's 60+ people you can pick from to go with you :)

Have a fantastic time!

FYI - Morgan (another meetup host) is organizing another meetup @ Tasting East from 7p-9pish and walking over to the Art Museum to check out the scene, more the merrier if you guys want to come too!

Anybody interested in body painting themselves? I have some paint I can bring if others are interested? Check out my site at www.hoknok.com to see some of my living statue work.

Wow, this is great. I have only seen this kind of courage at the solstice parade in Seattle. I would be interested as a spectator at this point. Anyone want to form a cheering section, maybe the wave and all:) ?

We can meet in front of Teddy Roosevelt statue at 7:30 pm to form our cheer leading group!

    June 7, 2013

  • Kris B.

What time should I be there to cheer you guys on in front of the Art Museum?

    June 7, 2013

  • Matthew P.

I am partially blind and it isn't safe for me to (drive) ride a bike, however, if there is anyone out there with a tandem bike and an open seat, I'd be happy to fill it.

I am a nudist and a member of the Hidden Springs nudist Club here in Portland, and I visit the two local nude beaches as often as i can find rides out to them. I just find clothing to be much less physically comfortable than being nude. I am always looking to meet/make more platonic naturist/nudist friends.

The starting point, this year, is in front of the Portland Art museum, which is a sponsor this year. I am told at 8PM admission to the museum will be $1 for each piece of clothing you are wearing.

Generally the police allow nudity within a few block of the starting point of the ride each year. Last year i saw seeral people rtidign nude to the start point.

The route is NOT a loop this year, but they did say it will end about a mile away from the start point. The only people who will know the route in advance are the organizers and the police department, as they always work together for good crowd control.

The unofficial after party is near the river at the East end of the Hawthorne Bridge, where, I am told, there will be naked dancing until dawn.

For more info look at the Portland WNBR page on Facebook and read the posts.

Beervana is meeting at the Tugboat for a few tasty pints before the ride. There is only a few people RSVPed for that. Might be fun to help them have a bit of a larger group.

I think I've just found my motivation to lose my winter weight! Count me in! I've heard about this ride from friends who have done it. Sounds like a blast!

Ok, I just joined and this is what I see! Did this at Burning Man, but here....wild! So being completely new, how can I connect with others in this group to watch? How do I actually connect with other 'New or Nearly New' folks at the event?

    Hell, I may ride....

I really want to be a participant, but I am not sure I have enough guts. Maybe since I haven't lived in Portland for long, I will watch the first year and participate the 2nd.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
