Slide Inn keeps popping up in more and more meetups, and I realize that it is the owner who is organizing these events to support his restaurant. I find such commercialization of the meetups highly inappropriate.

Dear Viking1, I understand your feelings, I would relish the opportunity to serve you one day. I have my own meetup now as I had another cooking class many years ago. I have always treated my guests, members and friends with the same respect. I am sorry you feel this way, but you can make a choice. Know that I do however offer a great product and truly want to make sure my guests are taken care of. Best wishes, Eugene

I notice the Cultured Caveman does the same thing...As long as the owner is up front about it - when they are cagey it does feel weird.

What a shame that you feel that way, Vikings1. The owner, Eugene, creates an atmosphere of camaraderie and enjoyment while we indulge in his inventive dishes which is why we continually return. As an organizer he brings us out to other places as well which would probably otherwise remain unknown to us. I commend those who take on the duties of Organizer whether it be it be at one's home, restaurant, or merry-go-round. Enjoy!
