Let's learn, plant, and make a bit of a difference! Outgrowing Hunger is a fairly new nonprofit that's already gained traction and respect in the Portland area with a focused mission to, "get healthy food into the mouths of hungry people." Adam Kohl, founder and director of Outgrowing Hunger, is offering a work and learn session to help get things growing on their 10,000 sq. feet of garden space. We'll start with a discussion of who Outgrowing Hunger is, followed by garden building, soil prep, and planting.
Tools and light refreshments will be provided. Learn more about this start-up nonprofit that's making a difference in the lives of those with hunger insecurity.
I'm posting and will attend the Friday, April 19, 10:00 a.m. session, but if you can't make that, they have two more scheduled and would love volunteers to rsvp from their website and come and contribute.
