Goose Hollow to Council Crest Hike

Distance: 7.5 - 8 miles
Elevation: 1,000 apx

I don't know about you, but I need to burn some calories after the holidays! So let's hit some stairs, hills, streets and trails.
We'll start out at the corner of SW Clay and SW 18th. and from there start to head up hill. The first staircase will be from SW Market up to the top of the Vista Tunnel and then we'll continue from there past beautiful homes and views of the city and - weather permitting - the mountains. Eventually we will head in to the forest before finally making it to the the highest point in the city: Council Crest.
We'll come back down a different way through a couple of small hidden pathways and some more stairs. We can stop and grab a cup of coffee at Stroehecker's if any one feels like it.
We will be ending up back on SW 18th and SW Clay, which is only a block away from The Goose Hollow Inn, so if anyone want to we can go there for a late lunch.

These are a couple of hikes out of Laura Fosters: Portland Hill Walks, which I have added together.

MAX goes up Jefferson and stops about a block away from our meeting place. There is some street parking, but it's mostly 2 hour spots.

Looks as if quite a few people want to get out for a hike, so I will have to put a limit on the numbers.  This is co-listed at Portland Weekday Hikers & Fun, Fabulous Fifty, so I can add you from the automatic waitlist, if there are less than the limit on any of the other groups.

Can I just ask on behalf of being on the WL, what happens if we just show up? I see this event is on a few other as well.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
