Why are you interested in the Semantic Web?

For its potential to satisfy curiosity and research questions in a way current keyword-based searches and Wikipedia cannot.

What is your general background in technology, data modeling, and philosophy?

Computer Science student at Portland State University, aspiring Library Science major. Well-versed in XML technologies. Currently attempting to build a description of local music scene networks in RDF, working on a general RDFa-templating/editing web framework/libraries. Had an existentialism class once.

What technologies or platforms are you using to work with Semantic Web data?

librdf tools on the command-line, Jena (inferencing, rules, ModelMaker, TDB, in-memory stores), Scardf, SPARQL, RDFa, jQuery, CoffeeScript, Scala

To see what others are up to in state of the art semantic web applications.
