When Sangpo needs to expend some energy, he will run around in circles and actually grab on to his tail so that he looks like a big circular blur of black fur. I had seen a few cartoon characterizations of this move but didn't realize real dogs actually did that!
My dog is named Sangpo, which means "kindness" in Tibetan. He is four years old.
Based on his papers, Sangpo is a purebred and was raised by a breeder in Wilsonville. His previous family purchased him as a puppy and kept him for over a year but then decided to find a new home for him. After looking for pets at the shelters, I found out about Sangpo via Craiglist and he's been a part of my family ever since. Sangpo's previous family didn't socialize him much with humans or dogs. He's very skittish and not the best on leash. I enrolled in the Basic Manners class at the Oregon Humane Society to get him more comfortable with various settings and become more confidant in general.
My name is Tenzin and Sangpo joined my family about three years ago. I'm interested in meeting Shibas and learning more about the breed from owners so that I can be a better family member to Sangpo. Looking forward to meeting all of you!
