The first hour will be a presentation and Q&A about Wikipedia: what is it, how did it come to be, how does it work? And, what's with Oregon's special kinship with Wikipedia and all things wiki?
After the first hour will be an open "edit-a-thon" - you can pair up with experienced Wikipedians to improve any Wikipedia article you like. Some suggestions: Portland's food scene, stuff that "keeps Portland weird", Portland area businesses and startups. Or even zombies. So think about an article you'd like to work on. If you have reference materials, bring them along!
Do bring a laptop, if you possibly can! If you don't have one, that's OK -- we may have a few loaners on hand, or you can just work with somebody else who has one.
See here for more details -- and feel free to edit this page with your ideas: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Meetup/Portland/February_2013 (You can sign up here or there).
Event sponsors: Wiki Strategies and Prichard Communications. (Note, this is not an official NetSquared event.)
