For 15 years I've been a web application designer, backend coder, scalability, and manager. I've worked for the US gov't, two F500 companies, healthcare, and 4 web startups. I'm currently with Basho, makers of Riak.
I'm both a professional and a hobbyist. I'm very lucky to get to do my hobby for a living!
Eric, thanks for posting the Rail Girls event - looks super useful.
I'm that annoying guy who asked too many questions. It's because your point of view is incredibly useful and will help me solve some problems. You make me wonder... What starts happening when I begin using arbitrary tags and js/css my own behaviors. Maybe this is what HTML wants to be?
Thanks for the presentation. (Hope you had a good flight to Vancouver). I was wondering if you could provide a link to some of the files you showed in your presentation so I can look at some of the new tags in HTML 5.
Thanks for the email notification. I was wondering if there's any way you could include the name of the group in the calendar file that gets loaded into my iCal. I get a number of notifications like this from various groups so it would be great if at a glance I could tell which group the appointment belongs to. I can't add it myself because it is edit restricted.
Had a great time the other day, stay in touch!
Please call me at [masked] as I have some information you may want to share at your meeting tonight.
Hi Eric, I came across your group and am looking for some feedback. Medical missions work which is my passion.
The link below is helping to fund Fishers of Men Ministries, an organization that provides medical services to those in need.

Hi Eric, thanks for setting up the happy hour. I look forward to meeting you and the group and becoming part of the web community in Portland.
I was interested in the book you said you were writing. Anychance you could mention the name of it again? Also, there's a cool online tool I came accross the other day that I thought I'd share with you. http://dbdsgnr.appspot.com/. I like the ease of use as well as the visual representation of the tables. Also, it will generate the code for the table if you'd like as well.
thanks for executing another great meet-up. I thoroughly enjoyed all your talks last night!
