Hi Lonnie,

Thanks for organizing this. I agree with Robert that 7 p.m. would be a good start time for a meeting. I'd like to suggest having this meeting on a Monday, Tuesday, or a Wednesday except the second Wednesday of the month, when I have another obligation.

I'm looking forward to meeting everyone once this group gets underway!

Hi Lonnie,
With a few days notice, I can make most days/times. Thanks for your persistance with this! Urban Grind is a good-sized space to have a meeting. Beware though: at certain times during the day there can be quite large populations of small children (just a factor to consider -- not a big deal).

Hi Lonnie,
Thanks for moving forward with organizing a first meeting. Considering traffic and and distance for me I would vote for 7:00 PM. And as I noted once before the middle of the week works best, Monday and Friday nights are usually difficult to keep a group together.

Thanks,

Subject: [webdesign-501] When/Where would everyone like to meet for the first group social event?

Hi Everyone,
It's time for some action in the group. Our first meetup will be held soon with the structure of a social event. Being the first event for this group we should use this time to get to know other participants of the group. Trade business cards, discuss future group meetings, resources, have some fun unwinding with like minded individuals, etc...

This should be a great time to get our bearings as a group and find out what will benefit everyone the most. Since this social event affects the future direction of this group I strongly urge everyone to participate if at all possible.

With that said I would like to ask everyone what time would work best for them. I realize that everyone in our industry is generally a very busy individual and ask for suggestions as to what would fit best for our members.

If anyone would like to help coordinate this first social event then please contact me at: [address removed] or by phone (503) 922-1079.

I would also love to get all the suggestions I can for meeting places. If anyone has any ideas or experience with past events that have gone well then please let me know.

Greg Hyatt had recommended we get together at Urban Grind Coffee (http://www.urbangrindcoffee.com/mappage.html) for our first event. So far I agree with him.

Do any of you have any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance for everyones time and I look forward to hearing back from some of you!

Sincerely,
Lonnie L. Leddy
