Monday, February 11, 2013 (Scranton, PA) – Today, Cabinet, in conjunction with Live Nation, announced the first annual OLD FARMERS BALL to play Toyota Pavilion at Montage Mountain on Saturday, May 11th. This inaugural festival promises a brilliant collection of Americana, roots, bluegrass and folk artists sure to rouse music lovers of all ages, tastes and persuasions. Enhancing the musical aspect of the festival, OLD FARMERS BALL will stay true to its name and offer an honest to goodness farmers' market as well as a host of vendors to keep fans occupied all throughout the day.

Celebrated sons of Northeast Pennsylvania, Cabinet has long outgrown the “local band” label while remaining loyal to their regional fans. The six piece bluegrass / Americana outfit has been busy touring the United States to promote their fourth album, Leap (Ropeadope Records), and won't have played in the greater Scranton area in half a year. This return to a local venue is a highly-anticipated homecoming and is expected to bring fans from far and away.

Cabinet is a band with roots firmly planted in the Appalachian tradition. They wear their influences like badges, honoring the canon of roots, bluegrass, country, and folk, weaving these sounds into a patchwork Americana quilt. But this music isn’t romanticizing or rehashing the past. Cabinet makes it mark on today. The steady aim of their harmonies soar straight onto target each time, the soaring vocals giving voice to the story of each song. Their music takes the long way home, treating its listeners like passengers on a ride through scenic back roads. Their live shows are inclusive, celebratory, and community-building. Everyone will want to get on the wagon with Cabinet. Members Pappy Biondo (banjo, vocals), J.P. Biondo (mandolin, vocals), Mickey Coviello (acoustic guitar, vocals), Dylan Skursky (electric bass, double bass), Todd Kopec (fiddle, vocals), and Jami Novak (drums, percussion), all live and love music, and their polished sound belies their young age.

No strangers to the festival stage, the band has performed at many great festivals (CMJ 11, SXSW 11 & 12, Musikfest 10 & 11, Floyd Fest '12, Peach Music Festival '12, Philadelphia Folk Festival '12 to name a few) and venues across the land, sharing the stage with the likes of Yonder Mountain String Band, Allman Brothers, Pokey LaFarge, Yarn, Delta Rae, Zac Brown, Infamous String Dusters, Railroad Earth, Rusted Root, Hoots & Hellmouth, Blackberry Smoke, Hot Buttered Rum, Cornmeal, Dark Star Orchestra, Keller Williams, Hackensaw Boys, 7 Walkers, New Riders of the Purple Sage and many, many more.

Tickets go on sale Monday, March 4 at 10am and will be available at Ticketmaster.com, Toyota Pavilion Box Office (1000 Montage Mountain Road, Scranton, Pa), Ticketmaster Outlets or by-phone at[masked]-3000.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
