You may see red grouse and often can hear their calls. Paths will be muddy so hiking boots are a must. It can be windy up the ridge so wear appropriate clothes.

Hi Geoff, do you have a rough idea when the shorter walk will finish? Would love to join you but have a commitment in the afternoon - can I do both??

The longer walk is an extension of the shorter walk and it's a nice option if the weather is good and people fancy a pub stop. Short walk will take ~3 hours including sandwich break. Might not set off before 10:15am so should be finished by 1:30pm

It's quite a doable walk. Uphill at start but a gradual gradient.

I fancy this one, but it's safety boots and a lump hammer to knock a kitchen diner through this weekend!
