Meet Up: Pick Your Poison

You can do it till it hurts, or worse. What are we talking about? Join us to find out.

Before we start our regular Meet up there is always a writing 'game' that offers a way to understand some aspect of writing in a challenging and interactive way.

If you haven't made it to this group, try it out, it might be the group of writers you've been looking for. We want to put you at ease and motivate you to finish writing whatever it is locked in your head whether you write poetry, fiction, non-fiction, screenplays, plays, short stories or scribble on napkins.

Don't be shy. See you here!

I'm thinking about doing something different this time. Instead of reading from the novel I've already finished (Burden of Solace) I'd like to lay out the storyline for the book I'm working on now, Invulnerable. How does that sound to you guys?

Sounds like a plan. I may not read since this is my first go round. I have 2 short stories that I am attempting to complete. I have the truly rough drafts only at this time. However, I am having serious issue with one of them, so we'll see.

Hello all. This will be my first time attending one of the meetings. I just need to know if there's anything specific that I need to bring. Thanks!

Welcome! I'd suggest bringing some paper and a pen or pencil. We usually do some sort of writing game/exercise at the beginning of the meeting to explore some facet of the craft. After that, writers have an opportunity to read their work aloud (typically limited to five or so minutes) and then the group offers comments on the material. Afterwards, some of us go to Taco Mac and socialize. I look forward to seeing you.

Thank you Richard. I look forward to meeting you in person. And Taco Mac is one of my favorite places.
