Wild Plant Identification and Forage Meander

We're going to scour the forest, fields, and ponds of City Park to see what we can nibble on this time of year. Wild foraging is very subject to seasonality, so I will point out other plants also. Beginning at the entrance/parking area to Couturie Forest [masked], [masked]). Led by TOMato Moss.

I hope it's ok I bring along my 5 year old. If he gets disruptive we'll take off. Thanks all.

Hi! I'm a 'newbie' to both this group and foraging. What is appropriate footwear/clothing, and what supplies (large baggies? baskets?) are best for 'hauling' our foraging cache? Also, are we supposed to bring beverages, etc... for the group? As I will be driving about 2.5 hours to get there, is this a rain or shine event?
    Thanks! Nicole

Nicole, I will be there to lead at 1pm no matter the weather. No one is obligated to bring anything, but I'm sure what you suggested or others would be appreciated. Bags are always useful and rigid containers for edibles that shouldn't be crushed. Long pants and shoes are best.

Not sure I can make this, but going to try. Sounds interesting. Need more details on where exactly you're meeting ... like where is it within the park. That park is huge and the last time I tried to attend a meetup there, got totally lost trying to find a specific spot.

Lynn, the details above include a link to google maps. The link is named "Couturie Forest and Arboretum in City Park". I trust that you can use google maps to create directions?

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
