Spring Potluck!

  • May 4, 2014 · 1:00 PM
  • Hunter Hill Farm

One of our members, Kristen Jas Vietty, of Lunaria Gardens permaculture design, has graciously offered to host a potluck at Hunter Hill Farm, alongside the crew of young farmers who help things run smoothly there.

This suburban property is being reverted back to its former farmland glory, with a CSA operation, apple orchard, mushroom cultivation area, meadow & forest habitat, & the beginnings of an edible forest garden. Kristen is converting a school bus into a tiny home, and they're adding some livestock into the mix.

Join us for some merriment & permie community!

Please bring a dish to share, your own utensils, plates, cups, etc., and park alongside either of the driveways.

Thanks for sharing your home, knowledge and time. I learned a lot and appreciate the model of Permaculture. Thanks to Alex for the very informative grafting demonstration. I enjoyed meeting you all and hope to see you soon!

I'm a bummed out that we can't make it up for an afternoon with friends especially since I missed your visit with the ladies homestead group of Doylestown in March, but i hope you all have fun! I'll be in touch to visit you at the farm soon! I want to see your Luna Bus!

Note to all attendees: there is construction going on in downtown Easton that makes getting to the farm a little trickier, unless you're coming from the North. Here's a route overlay for google maps: https://maps.google.com/?q=http://www.scribblemaps.com/api/maps/Easton_construction.kml I'm not sure about access on Rt 22 W from NJ, because I exit to take the Free Bridge (highlighted) to avoid the $1 toll. Regarding food, we have folks making mashed parsnips, arugula & claytonia salad, buttered carrots, and potato salad. Looking forward to seeing everyone!

Ugh I've left my RSVP open this whole time because I was really hoping to make it. I am also a landscape designer and was looking to meet some other people in my field as i'm just starting out.

Have fun! I hope to meet you all soon :)

Best wishes for a grand event. But 'fraid I can't justify several hours driving energy for personal attendance.

There is part of an already fenced in triangle at the bottom of where the CSA grows crops that may be better in some ways than the Mandala for an EFG , we are looking into the pros and cons of each

Hi, I'm new to permaculture, so - what's an EFG?

Edible Forrest Garden as described in the book of the same name by Jacke and Toensmeyer

Glad this is happening ! We are starting to plan a 150 foot diameter mandala

    April 8

    • Gene H.

Yes , we may have the mandala staked out and labelled for the potluck and will welcome suggestions and comments
