Hello Watershed Residents and Neighbors!
Are you interested in trees? Are you involved in your community but want to branch out? Become a Pennsylvania Horticultural Society (PHS) Tree Tender!
PHS's Tree Tenders program is a nationally-recognized certification program that has taught over 4,000 people how to plant and take care of trees!This winter, TTF is sponsoring community members to take this $25 training for FREE!
TTF will pay the $25 fee for you to attend the training if you live in our watershed and pledge to join your local Tree Tenders group or Shade Tree Commission!In the PHS Tree Tenders training, you will learn:
- The benefits of trees
- Tree biology and urban stresses
- How to plant and care for trees
- How to organize a tree planting in your communityTTF cares about trees because they protect our watershed and its inhabitants by cleaning the water and air, reducing flooding and energy usage, and moderating temperatures.

New in 2013: Learn about trees at convenient lunch-time workshops at PHS! Take one workshop or the whole series. Fee: $25 for eight-part series or $5 per class at the door. Note: you must attend all eight classes to receive Tree Tenders certification.
