RE: Seed company chart; Seed companies at the gardener level

This is a fantastic chart, but most backyard gardeners will not be buying seeds that will be directly labeled with any of the names on this list, so I would guess that it's still very difficult to navigate for most.
Here are a few things I've learned that might help folks at the non-farm level.
Please feel free to chime in if you have more!

* Just because a seed is OWNED by Monsanto does not mean it has been genetically modified. I personally would not want to lend my dollar to them either way, as I find both the practice of GMO's and also patenting seed in general to be ludicrous. But that's each individual's call.

* Burpee: purchases a small number of seeds from the garden seed department of Seminis, a Monsanto subsidiary, but they do not sell seeds that are known to be GMO.

* Ferry Morse: Also took the Safe Seed Pledge. Is owned by Jiffy Products> is owned by Plantation Products. - http://www.ferry-...
But they are not very nice when it comes to laying off employees with compassion. - http://www.wpsdlo...

* Companies I absolutely trust:
