I'm moving to Ottsville, PA (Tinicum Township) within the next week to throw myself into the small farm life with a few friends, & holy cow, do we have a lot of work to do in a short amount of time to get this season off to a good start!
We're trying to figure out how much money we're going to need & where we can source things as locally as possible--to support the local community, so we don't have to drive all over the place, & to avoid having to pay exorbitant shipping/delivery fees for heavy things like greenhouse film, finished compost, & potting mix components. Where do you shop? Any ideas where I could source all sorts of farm-related products (especially compost) within 20 miles of Ottsville, preferably at reasonable prices?
Also, if you're interested at all in supporting or following our (ad)venture, you can contact me or read up on things at sleepybeaverfarm.com
. Donations of encouragement, ideas, materials, & money are all super helpful. And we'll need people to buy our veggies, mushrooms, eggs, & sprouts when we have them, too!
Hopefully we'll see some of you at our market stalls in Easton, Ottsville, & Manayunk this season!
