We're excited to announce that our next Permablitz has been planned and is scheduled for Saturday, October 26th at 8am. We'll stop working at 12pm. For those who don't know what a Permablitz is, think of it as a modern day barn raising except the community comes together to build a Food Forest instead of a barn. And if you come, then your name gets entered into the, "Hat" for a future permablitz at your place. The specific guidelines of that can be found here: http://www.flpermies.com/showthread.php?t=502
This Permablitz will be at Patricia and Matt's house. We're especially excited by this Blitz because their lot is "just" .33 acres and it'll be nice to be able to showcase what is possible on smaller lots.
Our plan is to plant fruit trees and mulch with a break for a composting workshop. In addition, if you're able, please bring a small snack or dish for the group as we'll be having a small, informal potluck at 12:00. Organic is great. Organic and local is amazing.
For the Permablitz, please bring:
1. Wheelbarrows, shovels, and pitchforks if you have them.
2. Whatever supplies you usually use outside such as gloves, hat, insect repellant, etc.
3. If you took pigeon pea seeds at the last permablitz, please bring half of what you germinated if available.
We felt the work load at the last Permablitz was a little too much so we're striving to ensure that doesn't happen again.
Action is quite possibly the most important aspect of being a part of the Permaculture Guild. We hope to see you on the 26th to help transition Patricia and Matt towards sustainability.
