Me Before You: A Novel by Jojo Moyes

  • May 21, 2014 · 7:00 PM

They had nothing in common until love gave them everything to lose . . .

Louisa Clark is an ordinary girl living an exceedingly ordinary life—steady boyfriend, close family—who has barely been farther afield than their tiny village. She takes a badly needed job working for ex–Master of the Universe Will Traynor, who is wheelchair bound after an accident. Will has always lived a huge life—big deals, extreme sports, worldwide travel—and now he’s pretty sure he cannot live the way he is.

Will is acerbic, moody, bossy—but Lou refuses to treat him with kid gloves, and soon his happiness means more to her than she expected. When she learns that Will has shocking plans of his own, she sets out to show him that life is still worth living.

A Love Story for this generation, Me Before You brings to life two people who couldn’t have less in common—a heartbreakingly romantic novel that asks, What do you do when making the person you love happy also means breaking your own heart?

I am so sorry, but my car is in the shop (Hit a very nasty pothole) and I need to catch up on errands when it's fixed! Sad to miss this one.

Sorry I can't come. A good book to spark discussion. I feel one way intellectually and another way as a gut reaction. Have fun with this one!

Hi everyone. I just called and confirmed that there are no special events going on at 750 ml next Wednesday so please, even if you are on the wait list, plan on attending. It's very likely a few will drop out at the last minute and I think 750 should be able to accommodate the rest of us upstairs. We'll hope for a quite evening there. :) Look forward to seeing everyone.

Bill and anyone else who ends up on the wait list. Please do plan on attending! Very often people drop out at the last moment and we'd love to have you participate.

Please change your RSVP if it turns out you will be unable to attend as this Meetup is currently limited to 10 attendees. Please contact me if you'd like to be added to a wait list and I will see if the venue will accept over 10 without a minimum charge or we can change the venue, depending on degree of interest. Thanks so much and look forward to seeing you soon!
