Welcome to The Greatest Pet Chicken Group in the world. We ain't the biggest, we're just the BEST!! We are a great group chicken lovers who share ideas and are always willing to help each other.
What breeds of chickens do own or want?
I raise Heritage Breeds like Buff, Black Blue and Lavander Orpingtons, Rhode Island Reds, Black & Blue Copper & Wheaten Marans, Seramas, Polish Tolbunt & Sweet Cornish Marans & I invented Buff Orpingfowl; the perfect backyard hen!!
Tell us a little about your flock.
I have more than the 6 Roswell wants me to have but my neighbors all want eggs? I love my birds with all of my heart and will always do whatever I can to protect and care for them. Some people thinks I'm nuts, but I'm just AK & chicken crazy.
What do you enjoy most about owning chickens?
What's not to like about owning chickens. They have great personalities, are easy to care for, they don't pee on the carpet & it's a blast to watch them with 1/2 a watermelon (chicken cocaine). Who needs Comedy Central, when you have chicken TV?
How long have you owned chickens?
Since I was ten so that's like,,,,,,,,,, a pretty dang long time. When I was ten years old I had a pet snake that was supposed to eat baby chicks. Mom bought me a chick, the snake wouldn't eat it so we went to the feed store and purchased another.
How do you feel that this group can help you?
The group supports and helps each other. It weren't for my chicken friends I would have lost all my girls in the flood of September 21, 2009. As Always, GOD BLESS AMERICA, LITTLE PIGGIES AND ROOSTERS!

It took a year! I had 3 community meetings a nosey negative neighbor who caused all sorts of trouble. Determined to be who i am i am now legal. However; the county tells me how many pets i can own and how many people can go up my driveway!

Thanks Andrew! I actually live in East Atlanta, by I grew up in Cumming, where family still lives. My sister up there has a flock, we will be watching for the next meetup!

the cities/counties
of alpharetta,athens,duluth,decatur,cumming,dekalb county,norcross,rome,dohionega,forsyth county,lilburn,newnan,SAVANNAH,statesboro,tucker,valdosta,warner robins,albany,augusta,bartow county and canton have no laws limiting chickens. in macon ,you need a permit.
