Apologies for the late RSVP change. I am sick and cannot attend tonight. I hope that there is a second session. If not, I will be at the next meet up.

We've got an encore presentation scheduled for March 19th. I recommend RSVPing ASAP.

Very cool meetup! I've never written code for page scraping in python and it was very interesting. A neat idea/challenge for the next meetup could be to implement similar data scraping for data analysis as part of its presentation.

Large crowd needed more time to do the 2nd & 3rd challenges but I enjoyed the atmosphere.

Shushant I just dropped out of the meeting so there should be a slot open for you!

I'm sorry, I forgot that I had a client meeting tonight and am unable to attend unfortunately. Next time!

  • Jon Z.

Is there going to be a recording?

    February 26, 2014

    • Nick S.

Jon, Sadly no. After reviewing the presentation with Steve, we decided that his format will not lend itself well to broadcasting. We are considering offering a second session though, and I expect that the code will pop up on our Github organization. See the note at the top of this page to express interest in a second session.

Typically, we do a happy hour somewhere after the meetup. I called ahead to Social (ground floor of Bakery Square) and reserved space for our group. Apparently Wednesday night is their "Shitcan Wednesday" happy hour (no joke). Looking forward to chatting/drinking with everyone there after the workshop.

  • Stephen G.

And on that note as well, if you ARE an experienced Python dev, it would be great to have you present as well. Looks like we'll have a lot of newer coders so it would be super crazy helpful to have experienced folks lend a hand.

    February 24, 2014

  • Stephen G.

Also, I see a lot of questions here about skill level. I'm designing the workshop to be as easy as possible; I'll include more advanced exercises so if you're up for it. Newbies are welcome!

  • Stephen G.

BTW, in case you haven't been to the Google facility before: The session will be in our training rooms on the 5th floor. You can come in through the ground floor lobby and take the elevator straight to 5. We'll have Googlers on hand to facilitate this.

Hi folks! Ok, so apparently a few of you are coming to this thing. I'm doing my best to keep it efficient so everyone can learn and have a good time.

Please bring a laptop! This is a hands-on workshop; it'll be useful if you have a computer :)

John P: No wait list yet. Kind of unprepared for the surge. I'll keep you posted here. Other John: No IDE needed. We'll be using http://pythonanywhere... in browser.
