"Democracy" in Action Ride

A Simple Choice

Do we head west, into Lancaster County for burgers from Jakes Wayback Burgers

or

Do we head south, just inside Maryland for crabs from Woody's Crab House

As in politics, the choices are not always clear. So here is your chance to decide something not so mundane as our next President, Senator, Governor, Dog Catcher, whatever, but something a lot more important. Where to go for a good lunch

Majority rules so when you rsvp please add in the comment box if your vote is for Crabs or Burgers

We'll gather at the Corner Bakery(a convenient spot to head either direction)at 10:00AM planning on leaving around 10:30 so please be on time and have an empty stomach but a full tank of gas in the bike

The ride will be capped at 12 bikes and I don't get a vote so the first 11(no ties that way) will determine the outcome of this election

So please vote early (but only once) as you decide the culinary fate of our group

And remember. If your "Candidate" comes out on the losing side this time we can do a consolation ride later

Please note. If the winner is Crabs, by law you must wear a helmet in MD

First my thanks to; Rebecca, Mike, Perry, Steve, Mark, Tobie, Felix, Rich, David and Josh (who rode drag. Got to love all the lights on the front of a "Wing") for joinning me for the ride down to Woody's. Don't know what it is with Mother Nature and me going into MD, but the last 3 times she found out I was in the state with a group she ordered up a downpour. At least the ride down and the food were pretty good(Mine was, hoped everyone enjoyed their's). With the big dark cloud above us when we left it was time for a quick gas stop and then the highway back into PA after rolling through one of MN's free, portable, traveling car and bike washes. Next time I'll post that I'm going to DE (wink, wink) That way I won't get everyone wet

Again thanks to all who come out

Eh, it was just a sprinkle. The sad part was that we all had to take 95 home.

Really nice ride today, Pat. And what a beautiful morning it was for most of the ride.
Thanks so much for setting it up. I enjoyed an easy, "flower sniffing" ride. It was just my speed today.
Not EVERY day mind you...LOL...but perfect for a perfect day.

    Thanks again.

Guys, sometimes meetup will close RSVPs a certain amount of time prior to a ride. It's all settings.

Web said one spot left. I got message ride full and no option for waiting list. If there is a spot available please email me by 9 am Sunday morning.

      June 22, 2013

  • Alex K.

I'm sorry, I can't make it. Have a great time!

Felix, The ride down(on Sunday ;-) ) should take 2 1/2 hours including pit stop. Send me a text @[masked] so I have your number and I'll text u when we're leaving.

Michael, Some twist and turns on the route but nothing outrageous and the speed will be at or slightly above the posted limit. If u have been riding 2-up, you should be fine

    June 17, 2013

  • Michael L.

    Hi there.
Is this ride tame enough to ride 2-up?
    Anyone else taking a passenger?

    Thanks.

Meeting you @ woody's crab house?

    June 17, 2013

  • Felix{Catman}Smith

    Good day Pat,
Are you guys headed to woody's crab house on saturday...I was considering meeting you guys on saturday!

    June 17, 2013

  • Pat

Route is posted, Though it may not be exactly the way we go

    June 8, 2013

  • Pat

The votes are in and the winner by a landslide was Crabs. So we'll head south to Woody's in North East, MD. A quick check of their menu shows that they also offer burgers for those that voted that way. Because there is no waiting list for this ride PLEASE keep ypur rsvp up to date. If your plans change and u can't make it, take a moment to change it to a no, so a spot will open up for someone else.

    June 6, 2013

  • Tobie W.

we all are going to have the crabs LOL

    1 · June 5, 2013

  • Michael L.

    Crabs. :-)

    June 5, 2013

  • Ron M.

    OK - I got the last spot . . .

Just a question - with a 10:30 start, is the intention for a 'straight-shot' down and a 'meandering' route home, or a wandering ride both ways??

    June 5, 2013

  • Tobie W.

    I like Crab

    June 4, 2013

  • Rebecca

I vote for MD and crabs. Sounds fun!

    June 4, 2013

  • Rich E.

    My vote is crabs.
