2nd Annual Pet and Rescue Fair to be unleashed on June 5th at the Michener Art Museum!
The James A. Michener Art Museum presents the 2nd Annual Pet/Rescue Information Fair on June 5th from 6:00pm to 9:00 pm as part of First Friday Doylestown. The Museum will offer a $1.00 discount on Museum Admission with the donation of a pet related item to benefit the Bucks County SPCA and Animal Lifeline, a support organization for rescues, shelters and municipal groups who advocate for homeless animals everyday. All activities outside the galleries are free to the public. Come out and join the fun.
As a service to our community, we organize a free outdoor event bringing together pets, pet owners and homeless animals in need of adoption, as well as a variety of organizations dedicated to educating the public about pets and pet products.
Family focused highlights of the event include:
- Meet the Rescues - Meet available pets!
- ROXY Readers - Read to trained therapy dogs!
- Animal Adventure Passport at select First Friday locations
- Meet the Trainers - Get professional advice about your pet?s behavior
- Art Activities - Be inspired to create your own pet related poster after viewing the Pennsylvania WPA poster exhibit
- AARK Wildlife Rehabilitation Center
- Buster - the 15? inflatable dog
- Animal Authors & Artists
- Face painting, movies and light refreshments
At 7:00pm, visitors can also participate in a highlight docent tour of the Museum?s current exhibits with a focus on Pennsylvania WPA Posters: Work, War & Wilderness on view through August 2, 2009. Regular admission rates apply. Members and children under six are always free.
The Pet Information Fair is organized in partnership with the Doylestown Animal Medical Clinic, recipient of numerous ?Best of Bucks? awards, and the Animal Lifeline. Dale Mantell DVM and Drew Sporer VMD, both from the Doylestown Animal Medical Clinic, will be on hand to discuss pet nutrition and weight management.
Attention pet owners: The fair will be held in the Museum?s outdoor areas, some of which are only accessible by passing through the lobby. Since pets cannot enter the Museum, you may miss some of the fun if you bring your pet.
