Tech Request Roundtable and more

Building on the momentum of our great January session (thanks to all the new faces who joined us!), we're going to try something new for February. We're calling it Tech Request Roundtable -- it's a little bit like a mini hack-a-thon and a little bit like the Happiness Bar from WordCamp Philly. Bring your laptop, bring those little WordPress snags, hiccups and issues that you just can't solve yourself and join us as we try to work through as many as we can as a group.

We still aim to have a couple of short presentations (5 minutes) to start the meetup, so please get in touch with Liam if you have an idea or a presentation you'd like to deliver.

Thanks Vince for the links! It was a good meeting; I like the Tech Request Roundtable format.

Following up on my comments about S2Member, there are good explanatory videos available, including an 11 minute introduction on ( and more on S2Member is a good solution for monetizing content and can be used to enable recurring subscriptions or single instance sales (such as to access a white paper or training video). The free version integrates easily with PayPal; the pro version extends the range of merchant processor options.

If you use it, please let me know ... I'm always interested in seeing sites that are good examples of what can be done with WordPress.

There was some conversation about image maps in WordPress during our meeting. I just found the resource I mentioned so I wanted to share a link and a video on how it was done.

It has changed slightly since I used it last but it seems to still have great functionality.

Neither the video or software are mine. Just sharing the resource.

Great meetup! Sorry I wasn't further along with what I was trying to do, but I think the information I got and the few things that How showed me will be enough to get me started. Thank you!
