The memories from 40+ years ago and now are much the same. I meet the most beautiful people there. As I travel I see much of history and I love everything I see. I meet people and have often sat and chatted for hours with someone who had very little English and I have very little Vietnamese but we communicate. It is a beautiful place filled with beautiful people. There is a history of the USA and before that the French. Farther back is the history of the Chinese and, of course, the Vietnamese themselves.
I have not had a Vietnamese dish I did not like. I have tried things that I would not have thought of trying, but because friends have offered. I do not care for Seaweed, Grass Jelly or Bitter Mellon. I think Pho is one of my favorites. Spring rolls are definitely at the top of the list. I make a very good Banh Beo, Qui Nhon style.
The language is very difficult for me because of the tones. However I think if I am around Vietnamese I will be able to practice and learn. Please teach me.
I am interested in every event in the area around Doylestown and I can go to Philadelphia from time to time. I have my CELTA and will help any Vietnamese learn English. I also wish to learn Vietnamese.

Arriving in Vietnam, in 1967 I was struck by the absolute beauty of the country, culture, customs and people. In 2001 I knew that I had to go back. Now I go every year for two months and soon I will be going more often. My soul lives in Vietnam.
It was a very enjoyable evening I hope to attend more events. The students are such a delightful group of people and I love the Vietnamese customs and culture.
