I've had the pleasure of attending the new location of The Barnes Foundation for a pre-opening invite in May - and just loved it all...
So, to acquaint you more on this, the following event has been offered.
Perhaps this will motivate you to attend the new location - and possibly be a future event outing with the group together.....
Happy Hour for meet and greet TBD will be in Society Hill from 5:30pm-7pm
Then head over to the screening at 7pm at the latest.
More details to follow - so, save the date and times to attend this!
About the Film
WHYY's special 60-minute TV documentary for the new PBS Arts Summer Festival series, The Barnes Collection, tells the story of Dr. Albert C. Barnes and his priceless art collection, considered among the world's greatest, and details the design and construction of the new Barnes Foundation building in Center City Philadelphia.
Established in 1922 as an educational institution, the Barnes Foundation's art collection houses more Cezannes than all the museums in Paris and features the world's largest collection of works by Renoir. The 3,000-plus-piece collection is regarded as the greatest collection of Post-Impressionist and early modern art, and contains American and African art and sculpture.
