In the heart of the Italian Market is Rim Cafe, a unique and special cafe where you can find a great cup of coffee, the best Hot Chocolate in the city (Best of Philly 2007), and a charming host in Rene. Rene is from France and owns several cafes on the Cote d'Azur. In coming to South Philly he brought his coffee expertise and his way of befriending everyone who walks through his door. You may have joined us here for a night of learning the art of the perfect cup of espresso, where we saw the true extent of Rene's knowledge of all things coffee. Things you should know: Rim has Wifi and a small internet cafe, in case you'd like to go early or stay late and get some work done. There should be nearby parking in the area, though you may have to park a few blocks away. Visit Rim and Rene online here. See his extensive photo collection there as well. Getting there: Rim is located at 9th and Federal in South Philly, in the Italian Market area. For anyone who needs public transportation, take the Broad Street Subway to Ellsworth/Federal and walk about five blocks east, or take the Route 47M bus down 8th Street or up 9th. I found parking pretty easily on a street just a couple blocks away.
