Tell us about how, when, and why you first started to learn French.

My wife and I love to bicycle in France and Switzerland. We read French literature (mostly 19th century) in French, but we don't get to practice with others. We are currently reading Le rouge et le noir (Standhal) aloud.

My name is Alan Bayersdorfer. My love of French started with movies. About five years ago I decided I wanted to understand French films without subtitles. I've made alot of progress, but have a long way to go.
